European Union Foreign Policy is one of the most prominent subjects for many years, together with foreign trade and security policy. EUFAJ accompanies these policies, starting as an electronic quarterly, in an informative, descriptive, explanatory, constructive, critical, not only theoretical but also practical, and always truly European way.

This new online publication has been conceived by Europeans who want to see the European Union stronger and more articulate in international politics, European defence policy, and strong and acting responsibly in development policy and international trade. The EU’s proven, successful soft power approach can be a world-wide example.

The people behind this eQuarterly are middle on the road, hands-on and pragmatic, and they are democratic, pluralism-minded, tolerant, balanced and responsible. The publishing house of EUFAJ, LIBERTAS – European Institute, a think-tank on European and international economy and governance, is a limited company under German law. It is known for its European, not partisan approach.

EUFAJ appears in English. Its editorial staff has large experience from EU institutions (European Parliament), advising governments, universities, monetary institutions, heads of think-tanks, or as conference speakers.

Our offer to readers: Become a partner of EUFAJ !

Silent Partnership

after German company law (Stille Gesellschaft).

EUFAJ has to be available to every student, to every NGO, to every researcher, to every interested person - it must be accessible. This has been the policy of the editors from the very beginning. Therefore we follow the financial principles described henceforward:

  • We offer free subscriptions, and free access to the Internet page (eufaj.eu).Those who subscribe (for free) will however be sent the new issues to their e-mail accounts, and they do not have to take care of the homepage.

For an investment – minimum 100 EUR, maximum 10.000 EUR – everybody, be it a physical or a legal person or a public entity, can become a partner of the European Union Foreign Affairs Journal, in 100s of Euro steps. We have excluded any responsibility for our partners and let them participate for a guaranteed percentage of the Basic Rate of the European Central Bank plus 0,5%. This formula makes it very easy to calculate with. If our business develops well – and the one of LIBERTAS – European Institute GmbH – the silent partners would profit of additional payments, not only of the guaranteed sum. However, due to the limit we impose to our silent partners, one should not expect big revenues in the sense of the absolute amounts. But we try every year to be better than the previous one.

  • We at the same time offer advertisement space – to interesting conditions, in particular for investment destinations, airlines, holiday makers, travel business, publishers, educational institutions etc.

Several press products have been set on the feet of their readers – in France, in Germany etc. We use this way, which will open also the door of the partners to interesting fringe benefits:

  • books and other publications for a reduced rate (15% on all LIBERTAS bookshop products, on some more when being alerted by an information letter)

  • special conditions to seminars and other events organized by EUFAJ or LIBERTAS – European Institute GmbH or selected partners

  • a hot line for a first-advice system, if e.g. the partner is a company and is interested in general business, macro-economic or legal advice for his business purposes

Please see our information pack – inform yourself, and … welcome within the group of silent partners of EUFAJ:

more… (soon available)

  • Furthermore, the publisher of the European Union Foreign Affairs Journal, LIBERTAS – European Institute GmbH, has since its start sponsored and supported EUFAJ – as nobody should have a lever to influence this paper. This means: freedom of the press. But of course, this is not enough. This is why we offer our readers a silent partnership (see right side).
