Organisational remark:

ECTIS is – at present – a department of LIBERTAS – European Institute GmbH.

Staff:

Its director is Hans-Jürgen Zahorka, Government Advisor with LIBERTAS. Other staff is from regular LIBERTAS staff, stagiaires (interns) and personnel from government or administration institutions of interested countries who are temporarily deployed to ECTIS

Objectives:

ECTIS is based in the European Union, a successful integration system by itself. Throughout the world, there are more and more countries and regions working more and more together. ECTIS wants to promote this principle, give advice to other regions of the world and thus contribute to a more and more linked-up world. This will be positive for peace, economy, the environment etc.

Among the objectives of ECTIS there is the setting up of an information centre and the Europe and world-wide exchange of views and experience on all questions relating to

  • Political promotion of integration principles,
  • regional trade agreements,
  • integration between states,
  • all aspects of legal, institutional, soocial and economic integration,
  • integration of environmental and other policies,
  • research on integration policies,
  • help in academic and practical field work on integration,
  • the setting up and keeping of a library and of bibliographies,
  • of consulting services on integration.

Furthermore the objectives of ECTIS are the holding of conferences and seminars, as well as editing and promotion of publications and the co-operation with international public and non-government institutions.
