- LIBERTAS – Europäisches Institut GmbH (European Institute) is a „think-tank“ involved mostly with European and international questions on economic, legal and policy science questions which are treated from an interdisciplinary point of view. LIBERTAS was founded in October 1992 as legal successor to the LIBERTAS Publishing Company, which has been active in the market since 1976.
- Activities of LIBERTAS include:
- advanced vocational training, ongoing education
- publishing
- consulting for government institutions, associations and enterprises
- classical think tank activities like scenarios, forecasting etc.
- LIBERTAS clients are usually entrepreneurs, institutions, consulting firms, industrial and economic associations, chambers of commerce, European Economic Interest Groupings (EEIG), local and regional governments, government institutions on national and European levels etc.
- LIBERTAS has at its disposal a staff of more than fifty experienced co-operators, including partner institutions in German, France, Italy and other countries. Our group of experts meet regularly to attend further training in advanced courses which are held in different European countries.
- This resource pool of qualified and creative experts is oriented to Europe, with previous working experiences within both EU Institutions and various European economic sectors, sharing a common strong belief in the ideal of integration.
- Since the creation of LIBERTAS, our experts have been dealing increasingly with topics related to European Monetary Union, foreign trade questions and Central and Eastern European countries.
- We pay particular attention to the needs of small and medium enterprises and to the problems which commonly occur in a SME´s business life in the sense of Europeanization or globalisation. Some LIBERTAS personnel also belong to GROUPEURO and TEAM EUROPE, both working groups of the European Commission. For several years they have also been working in part as consultants within Central and Eastern European countries on behalf of the European Union.
